Abstract

The Gurukul system is a major approach to prosperity in music education. In this system, students stay in Gurukul and study under the Guru and receive musical education along with the cultural tradition. This unique system enhances harmony in music by providing students with personalized religious and cultural experiences, thereby enriching their art. The Gurukul system gives students the opportunity to understand and practice various aspects of music, such as raga, taal, Riaz, and musical literature. This system is an effective way of preserving the cultural heritage which leads to prosperity in music education. Another aspect of prosperity of the Gurukul system is the opportunity it provides to the students to reach unique quality in music. In Gurukuls, students get the opportunity to systematically practice various disciplines, which increases their proficiency in the art. There is a confluence of traditional and modern music, leading students to expertise towards prosperity. This system not only helps the disciples to excel in music but also plays an important role in their moral, social, and spiritual development. In the presented research paper, through qualitative, descriptive and observational techniques, it is my endeavor that the Gurukul system in music education proves to be extremely essential in the all-round development of the student.
