Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) based technologies have brought about radical changes in the methods of political discourse and election campaigning. Deepfakes, algorithmic propaganda, and targeted political advertisements are influencing voters' decision-making processes. This research paper examines the impact of AI and deepfake technology on political discourse and its effects on democracy. In particular, an analysis has been made of the impacts on voter autonomy and the emerging challenges for Indian democracy.
