Main Article Content
Abstract
The Vedic education system has been the foundational basis of the Indian knowledge tradition, with special emphasis on the holistic development of an individual—physical, mental, intellectual, and spiritual. In the current era of globalization and technology, the nature of education has undergone widespread changes, yet the core principles of Vedic education remain relevant today. This research paper analyzes the nature of the Vedic education system, its key elements, and potential innovations within it, so that modern education can be made more humane, value-oriented, and integrated. The foundation of the Indian education tradition has been Sanskrit literature, which possesses an integrated form of knowledge, science, ethics, and life philosophy. The New Education Policy (NEP-2020) is a significant step toward the revival of the Indian knowledge tradition. This research paper analyzes the educational characteristics of Sanskrit literature and its inclusion in NEP-2020. The study makes it clear that the new education policy is oriented toward holistic development by integrating the Sanskrit language and the Indian knowledge system with modern education.
