Abstract

The performance of any mechanism is affected by the manufacturing errors on the links and joints that were used in the manufacture of the mechanism. With the increase in the requirements of its performance, it is necessary to analyze the effect of manufacturing errors on kinematic accuracy. This analysis can help designers to verify whether the output performance of the mechanism is within the indicated limit or not.This paper describes a new method that can be used for the analysis of the kinematic accuracy of a four-bar mechanism, taking manufacturing errors of links and joints into consideration by using successive screw displacement method and its effectiveness.
