Dilemmas faced by rural students in learning and reading

Abstract

The study involves college-level students in rural schools focusing on motives that may be barriers to English language learning and reading for students in rural areas. This paper introduces the English language school education in India, the development of the English language and students' understanding of the English language as a second language and the problems faced by rural students. A study is conducted among rural students with in-depth questions which helps in understanding the problems of reading and learning in English language. Finally, the feedback from the college students helped in becoming aware of the problems and gave some suggestions to overcome the barriers and enhance the skills of the rural students.
