Child Labor: Challenges and Solutions in the Context of District-Farukhabad, U.P.

Abstract

The practice of child labour is a burden on the economy of any nation, a blot on humanity and a curse for children, but due to the personal interests of some sections, it is being practiced in a planned manner not only in India or third world countries but also in the countries of the world which are called rich and developed. Even in a rich and prosperous country like America, the incidence of child labour is increasing continuously. According to the report of the American Auditor General, between the years 1990 and 2000, the incidence of violation of child labour law in America has increased by more than 150 percent. The industrialists there also employ the employment opportunities available to child labourers for cheap labour whose wages are low. Similarly, an increase in such incidents has been recorded even in Central and Eastern Europe, but this problem is extremely severe in the countries of Farrukhabad district. As a conclusion from the data collected by various organizations, it can be said that in almost all the Zardozi centers of Farrukhabad district, children are exploited by employing them in various industries and works.
