Abstract

Uttar Pradesh is a state that is rich in various arts and crafts. Uttar Pradesh is home to many unique and diverse crafts that make it one of the most culturally rich states. Being home to various cultures, there are diversities in the crafts of Uttar Pradesh. The same legacy of arts and crafts has been carried forward by the people of Uttar Pradesh till date and that is why the crafts and handicrafts of Uttar Pradesh are world famous. Uttar Pradesh is famous for its unique arts and crafts that tell its rich heritage, traditions and culture. Uttar Pradesh is famous for various types of crafts, silk sarees, pottery, woven carpets, perfumes etc. Agra and Kanpur are known for their leather goods, Moradabad for its metal artifacts and Lucknow for its chikankari embroidery. The present research paper makes us aware of the various handicrafts of Uttar Pradesh and the various institutions and schemes involved in their development.
