Abstract
The presence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is now becoming visible in almost every field. This has posed significant challenges for many businesses and industries. Technology, which evolves with every second, has impacted numerous sectors. Various scholars have expressed different opinions regarding what Artificial Intelligence precisely is. In fact, the researcher Alan Turing is considered the father of AI. He proposed the idea that machines could think like humans, and soon the influence of this AI began to appear in all spheres of human life. It is now evident that AI has gained dominance in diverse fields such as education, business, industry, and healthcare.
Many scholars have put forth their views on what exactly AI is. Their perspectives are as follows:
Dr. John McCarthy, who first coined the term 'Artificial Intelligence,' states that computers can make decisions similar to human intelligence.
According to Marvin Minsky:
"Artificial Intelligence is machines that think like the human brain."
According to Herbert Simon:
"Machines can learn to solve problems and make decisions and will perform many human tasks in the future."
World-renowned scholar Stephen Hawking says:
"AI could be useful for humanity but could also become dangerously uncontrollable."
Elon Musk says:
"AI needs proper regulation. It is a double-edged sword for humanity."
From this, it is clear that AI is both a tool for human progress and a potential source of harm to human life. In this context, some scholars have also highlighted associated risks. Ultimately, in-depth study is needed regarding how useful this technology is for humanity and how it should be managed. It seems crucial to develop an ethical framework concerning AI.
