India's Soft Power Policy in South Asia and Its Effectiveness

Abstract

This research paper first explains the situation in South Asia and India's central role in it. Subsequently, while attempting to understand the need for India's security and foreign policy in this region, it discusses India's hard power policy and soft power policy in this region in parallel. Following this, an effort is made to understand the concept of soft power. Furthermore, analyzing Indian soft power, an attempt has been made to understand its use by India in South Asia so far and its effectiveness. This research paper concludes by understanding the potential for India to implement its soft power policy in South Asia and its possible outcomes
