The use of Artificial Intelligence in Learning and Teaching English Language and Literature in India

Abstract
The rapid progress of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) has had a tremendous impact on the educational practice of the entire world. The present paper finds the use of AI in teaching and learning English language and literature, its benefits, challenges, and learning opportunities in India. It can be transformed to adaptive learning systems, chatbots, automated assessment systems, and intelligent tutoring systems, which are referred to as examples of AIs that are transforming the classroom and which offer an individualized educational experience and data-driven information. It concludes the paper by making suggestions on how AI may be adopted successfully in the process of teaching English such that it helps enhance students’ engagement, language competence and enjoyment of literature.
