Artificial Intelligence in Hindi Language Teaching: Possibilities and Limitations
Main Article Content
Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers remarkable possibilities in the teaching of the Hindi language, particularly in areas such as pronunciation improvement, grammar checking, assessment and analytical evaluation, inclusive pedagogy, and instructional content development. Through adaptive technologies and data-driven tools, AI has the potential to enhance the efficiency, accessibility, and personalization of Hindi language learning.
However, there are significant limitations to the application of artificial intelligence in this domain. The cultural essence of the Hindi language, its emotional depth, originality of expression, human-centered communication, linguistic diversity, and issues of technological inequality remain areas where AI falls short. Hindi, as a language deeply rooted in cultural traditions, lived experiences, and affective expression, cannot be fully comprehended or transmitted through algorithmic processes alone.
Therefore, it is essential that the use of artificial intelligence in Hindi language education be regulated, ethical, culturally sensitive, and continuously supervised by teachers. AI should function as a supportive pedagogical tool rather than a substitute for human educators. When applied judiciously, artificial intelligence can strengthen Hindi language teaching while preserving its humanistic, cultural, and creative foundations.
