Abstract

The entry of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the field of children’s literature has emerged as a novel and widely discussed subject in contemporary literary and educational discourse. AI technologies are increasingly being utilized in story generation, character creation, translation, language simplification, and even in developing personalized content tailored to individual young readers. These applications offer significant opportunities to make the creative process more dynamic, engaging, and expansive, thereby enhancing children’s reading experiences.

At the same time, the growing use of AI in children’s literature raises serious concerns related to quality, originality, cultural sensitivity, and the appropriate balance between education and entertainment. Children’s literature plays a crucial role in shaping imagination, values, and emotional development; therefore, the uncritical or excessive reliance on algorithm-driven content generation may risk diluting literary authenticity and human creativity.

This paper presents an analytical study of the increasing use of artificial intelligence in children’s literature, examining its potential benefits, associated challenges, and future directions. It argues for a balanced and ethically informed integration of AI, where technology serves as a supportive creative tool while preserving the fundamental human, cultural, and educational dimensions of children’s literary production.
