Abstract

Today, the demand for establishing a socialist system is increasing day by day in the world. After attaining independence, India declared that its ultimate goal is to establish a socialist society in the country. In such a situation, the characteristics of the society are lack of feeling of inequality, equal opportunity to live a healthy and happy life, physical and economic security etc. This means transformation of our society in a new direction and this transformation can be done only through education. Socialism has attracted people's attention towards the evils and inequalities of the current social system. It has also generated a desire to remove these evils in all kind-hearted people. In other words, we can say that education is the only strong means for establishing a socialist system. Therefore, it is necessary that education develops the feeling of socialism in individuals and gives it a permanent form. Only by fulfilling this objective, education can take the modern society towards a socialist society. Nehru ji had said that I believe in a socialist state and the objective of education should be to develop such a state.
