Abstract

The present research paper is based on the concept of rural development in Sharat: a sociological study. India is a country of villages. According to the 2011 census, there are 6,40,867 villages here. 68.8 percent of the country's population lives in these villages. This population is called the backbone of India. It belongs to the low income group but provides the basis for the development of the country and nutrition of India. The rural society, which lives in poverty itself, is helping that urban civilization to touch great heights of development. Which is known as India. Behind the glitter of metros and small cities, there is also a society in the background, which is still waiting for development. Which is necessary for the development of India. Without rural development, Abdul Kalam's dream of India becoming a developed country by 2020 has remained and can remain only a dream. To achieve time and real development, rural areas will have to be included in the mainstream of development because rural development is the key to time-development.
