Abstract

Vipassana meditation is an ancient meditation system that aims to stabilize the mental state and develop self-understanding. Studies of its psychological effects have shown that Vipassana meditation can reduce stress, improve mental health, increase a sense of vivacity and balance, and develop a person's ability to concentrate. This can lead to a greater sense of positivity and resolution in general life. The scientific study of Vipassana meditation also accepts it as a major mechanism of mental health treatment. The word "Vipassana" is from the Pali language and means "observation" or "direct experience". It is understood as a special type of meditation in which a person's attention is focused on the direct observation of their physical and mental experiences. In this meditation system, the person is allowed to understand their introspective experiences through sensitivity and understanding. Its main objective is to attain spiritual advancement and mental peace.1Gautam Buddha made Vipassana an ambitious part of his religious experience. He practiced Vipassana to end the suffering of the world. Buddha attained four main truths with complete experience which he presented as the basis of his religion:-

1. There is suffering in life.

2. Cause of suffering: The root cause of suffering is desire and ignorance.

3. Cessation of suffering: The cure of suffering is cessation, which ends desire and ignorance.

4. Path of suffering: Eightfold path (eightfold path) – right view, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right concentration, and right enlightenment.
